John Allen Muhammad, going on trial, again?

by @ 10:51 am. Filed under Crime & Justice, Politics

Muhammad is scheduled to go on trial May first for six murders in a wave of shootings that terrorized the Washington, D-C area. He’s already been convicted and sentenced to death for a sniper shooting in Virginia.

Maryland prosecutors say? a conviction? in the state would ensure his continued incarceration and would give relatives of the six people killed in Montgomery County their day in court.

Ok, correct me if i’m wrong but why in the hell are we putting someone already sentenced to the death penalty on trial again? What is “Continued Incarceration”, are we going to lock up the body after he’s dead?

As for the relatives getting their day in court that’s just petty, if they want to confront him in court they should have? to pay the extra court fees for the trial. It would be far cheaper to have the state send these people to therapy for the rest of their lives.

Zacarias Moussaoui, the man with no future.

Ok, this is outside the hype of the trial.

This man will never get out of the United States justice system alive.

If the current (first) jury gives him life in prison the government will appeal and/or put him up against the death penalty in another jurisdiction.

If he gets death from the current jury it will most likely get overturned on appeal and again the government will put him up against it again.

They will run him through the system until they can shove a needle in his arm.

I’m not making any? judgement on his guilt or innocence, i’m just commenting on the fact that this is being run from anger and the desire for revenge, not justice.

Georgia school and selective bans.

by @ 10:17 am. Filed under Politics

The American Civil Liberties Union filed the lawsuit on Monday in federal court against officials at White County High School in Cleveland, Georgia, for banning a gay-straight alliance group.

Administrators announced? plans shortly? after the group formed? to ban all non-curricular student clubs from campus during the school year.

However, the school still allowed a shooting club and a school dance team to meet on campus. And that violates federal law.

The Federal Equal Access Act states that schools have to treat all non-curricular clubs equally.

It’ll be interesting to see how this plays out.
